A wider seat base, a taller backrest and a 350 mm base, rated to 180 kg. The backrest carries a diamond-quilted panel and gold piping, the headrest is moulded into the shell rather than strapped to it, and the base and armrest posts are polished brass. Everything under the upholstery is the SESSION platform — same foam density, same class-4 lift, same five-year frame warranty.

What the SESSION XL is not.

Every product on this site carries this section, because a specification table only ever tells you what a thing does.

  • There is no lumbar pillow. The XL shell is shaped for it instead — some people prefer that and some people miss it, and the SESSION's strap-on cushion fits this chair too at $29 on its own.
  • The brass is cosmetic. Same aluminium base, different plating, no stronger than the SESSION's.
  • 180 kg is a tested static rating at twice the load, not an invitation. A chair rated to 180 kg is still not a chair to drop into.
